The Danville Area Association for the Arts & Humanities and the Danville Regional Foundation entered into a partnership to host the first annual River District Festival on October 8, 2011 from 10:00am to 8:00pm.  As the City of Danville begins plans to revitalize downtown, local partners have banded together to increase awareness and visibility to this area. A River District Festival will provide an opportunity to energize activity along the river and in the historical Tobacco Warehouse District while engaging citizens in events that all may enjoy. By establishing this connection in collaboration with community partners, both locals and non-locals will recognize the asset-potential of the Dan River, which will serve as a catalyst in rebranding Danville’s new “River District.”
